Priscilla's Knitting blog

May 7, 2007. (11:45Pm)
It's been a while again. Very busy, had another baby April 29th. Another little boy. Don't know what color he will be maybe black.
Never did get Melissa's doily done for her birthday. Maybe for Christmas the way things are going. Should have another baby in a week or two. then thats it. Things should settle down and I can get something done. Hopefully!!!

It's been a while, sorry. I've been busy tring to get my neice's doily done for her birthday. Don't think I will make it. I've taken it apart 3 times now. I hope this pattern works.
We had our first baby of the year, born on Friday the 13th.

A little boy! Think he will be a bay, not sure though. Now I have to come up with a name for the little guy.

Wouldn't this be so wonderful. LOL

If I could steal a cat's identity it would be one of my cats. Click on the picture to see more of Glasbergen's cat jokes. Happy April Fool's day!

Here I am updating my blog when I should be getting some sleep, working the night shift. Got pictures of Rebecca and Raphael with their hats on and fingerless mitts.
Rebecca wearing Ralphs hat with her fat cat Max
You can see more of them in their earflap hats on the pattern page for the hats. Done with Jessica's hat and mitts and back to my doily which is almost done.

March 25, 2007. (2:56am)
Well I have Jessica's hat done and most of one mitt. Even with the help of Isis. She only can contain herself for so long.
When the yarn starts pulling by she say's I have to grab it. It calls to me!
But do you have to chew on it, you're getting it all wet.

March 24, 2007. (2:06am)
Had to stop crocheting for a little while, my little finger was getting stiff. I started my niece Jessica's red & white earflap hat. My Wisconsin Badger tail-gaiter. I have a begining knitter who is having a little problem with my pattern so I want to make sure I have the pattern right. I'm half done then the fingerless mitts to match. It's a little early to start next winters gifts. Early, head start, this is a novel idea. LOL
I wanted to get the blue & white doily done for niece Melissa's birthday April 27th. I hope I can make it. Have some deer repair on the horse fence to do, with the nice weather it will go fast. Then back to my projects.
Good luck to Georgina (my begining knitter) with her earflap hat.

March 18, 2007. (4:14pm)
What a beautiful day it is. Am just about to go out and feed the "big kids".
My doily is almost done, but I think I will add a few more rows and make it a little bigger. Then I have to get back to my knitting. If the weather stays this nice it will be hard. I like to be outside with the horses.

March 13, 2007. (1:44am)
I am around half done with my second doily. I don't think it will be as big as I want, so will probably add more to the pattern. I was digging through one of my closets for Easter stuff and found my stuffed lambs that I made. My favorite is the little ivy lamb. I made these about 6 years ago, cut a smaller pattern from the large one. Will use them for an Easter centerpiece. Spring is right around the corner. My favorite time of year.

March 6, 2007. (12:16am)
Finished my first doily in what must be 30 years. Doesn't look to bad.
I do think that I am giving it away to my sister who really likes it. So I have started another.
It doesn't look like much right now. Will work on it untill I run out of green thread, then start the blue and white on for my neice Melissa. Now I really have to go through my crocheting stuff, who knows what I might find.

February 26, 2007. (12:31pm)
Worked on my doily last night. It seems to be coming back to me.
I'm rather pleased with it. Will post another picture when done. I wish I could of found a darker green but since it's cotton I can always dye it. I like a darker green. Since this thread is thiner than most yarn I really have to watch the girls so they don't chew on it, since any movement on the threads part means it's time to play.

February 25, 2007. (2:46pm)
It's snowing and blowing here. Good time to be knitting. I just got in from feeding the horses. Some places there is no snow, some places the driffs are 2 feet. It wouldn't be so bad, it's 28 degrees out but the wind is blowing so that the wind chill is 11 degrees. Burrrrr! Like I said "It's a good time to be knitting", and I have. Finished the pink hat and another black pair of fingerless mitts for my sister. Have a red and white earflap hat and mitts to make for Jessica who is a big Badger fan. Her husband Tony and her like to tailgate. She say's she would wear them everytime. But first I think I will crochet a doily. Have 5 rounds done in a green (of course). Will put a picture up when I get a little more done.

February 18, 2007. (6:23pm)
Got the pink hat started that go with the pink fingerless mitts. About a little more than a third done. It's been so cold here with wind chills in the minus 20's and 30's knitting with the cats laying on me is quite cozy, sometimes even to warm. We are finally getting a break with today in the teens and by the end of the week the 20's and back to normal. I have 3 pair of fingerless mitts to make and then I think I will start crocheting if I don't get a request for something. You all know how it is, you have a plan and it gets put on the back burner in lieu of something else. Isis thinks she is Queen of the pillows
and doesn't seem to mind when they slide off into the knitting basket of yarn. The pillow Queen never lets on that it wasn't supposed to happen.

February 13, 2007. (12:05am)
Well have just finished my fourth pair of fingerless mitts. They go so fast I can't seem to stop myself from starting another pair when I'm done.
I have to stop myself, have a hat to make to go with the pink pair. It's been quite nippy here, they are so nice for driving.

February 2, 2007. (4:37pm)
Really like the fingerless mitts so I am making a pair for myself. Really! So far everything I say I'm making for myself I have given away as a gift or because someone really likes it. You know how it is. LOL
Have also started a crochet doily for my dining room table. Green of course! No pattern, just seeing what I can come up with, it's been a while since I crocheted. No, I really didn't go through my crocheting stuff, just grabbed a few things. Still have to go through it.
Have ear flap caps and fingerless mits to send to Rebecca and Raphael. They usually get my weather in New York a few days after me, so they will need them. Burrrrrr it's cold here and getting colder. Saturday the high will be 0 degrees. We have been spoiled with the mild weather and I just can't get used to the cold. Looking forward to spring my favorite season.

January 28, 2007. (11:17pm)
Decided to try my hand at fingerless glove/mittens to match the ear flap cap I just made. Figured can't be much different than my tube socks. Just bind off for a thumb hole.
Already have one and a 1/4 done.
Went very fast and Isis seems to think it's OK. Isis checking the finished piece
Forgot about my crocheting stuff again, maybe I'll get to it tomorrow.

January 28, 2007. (5:25am)
Well, I finished my pattern for the ear flap cap.
It knit really fast and turned out pretty nice so I have added it to my pattern page. Cream, purple and light green. (always some green)
All ready know what colors the next one will be. Maybe I should make some fingerless gloves to go with them?

January 26, 2007. (10:13pm)
Finished the gray sweater in the rainbow boucle. It turned out really nice, the colors are great. Sorry, I sent it off and forgot to take a picture of it. I will have her take one of it on. Now I am working on my ear flap cap pattern. Still haven't gone through my crocheting stuff! I really have to get this done. I guess to many irons in the fire. We are going to get some really cold weather the next couple of days, maybe then. Girls are tearing through the house, have to see what they are into.

January 15, 2007. (4:23am)
Haven't had time to do very much on the gray sweater, only a few inches the last few days. Behind on the laundry and everything. You know how it is. LOL
So you know that I haven't had time to go through my crocheting stuff. Soon!!!!! Maybe Thursday or Friday, my days off.

January 9, 2007. (12:07pm)
Finally made it into town to pick-up the dark gray yarn. Lots of gray yarn out there. Pretty much all light gray, nothing dark that I liked. So I finally decided on a rainbow that goes from black to charcoal to medium gray. It's very pretty. I have the collar and shoulders done and a couple more rows and I will be done with the arm holes. I can't wait to see the color when it's done.
Still haven't gone through my crocheting stuff. I'm not even sure where it is! The cats will help me find it. They know where everything is. LOL

January 4, 2007. (8:15 am)
Finished my first hat with ear flaps. Went very fast but I really didn't like how it knit. Knit ear flaps first, then cast on, add one flap, cast on more, add other flap, etc.... Will make my own pattern knit from the top down. When I figure this out will add it to my pattern page. Can't get to involved with this, I still have the gray sweater to knit.
Still haven't gone through my crocheting stuff, might have to make it a new years resolution. I don't usually make them because I don't usually keep them. LOL

January 3, 2007. (1:53 am)
Just finished my first sweater of the new year, even with the help of my girls. (mouse over picture for caption)
Had a little chill so I threw the green throw over my lap which is Isis' que to snuggle and try to steal yarn.getting ready for the attack
Isis lays in my lap and Nesert lays next to me. Sometimes girls getting their spots hard to move my arms but I manage. If I have to pull any yarn past them it's a lost cause. stealing yarn
Once they snuggle in and fall a sleep I can get quite a lot done.
bored with yarn ready to sleep
"Isis, go to sleep now."
I always tell those who receive my gifts that it might have a little extra from the cats. If you have cats you know it's pretty much all about them. What ever your doing, it's for "them" and you can't keep them out of it.
Well, I haven't picked up the gray yarn for the second sweater yet so I'm going to start one of the hats. I think white, green, black and red. Of course some green, my favorite color.
I make a little to much in my favorite color so have to start making a list of family and friends favorite colors.
Haven't crocheted for a very long time so I might do some of that after the gray swearter and hats. Have to go through all my crocheting stuff, who knows what I might find, it's been years.

December 31, 2006. (10:31 am)
Well, past the arm holes on one of the sweaters.......go to Dec 2006 archives
